European Commission control plan on packaging migration.

The European Commission is launching a food control plan with Member States to assess the migration of certain substances from materials intended to come into contact with foodstuffs. This coordinated control plan is targeted on the specific migration of certain molecules, or even global depending on the different groups of packaging considered.

The analyses will start on 15 June this year and be finalised by 31 December 2019 with the results communicated to the Commission at the end of February 2020.

Plasticizers, including phthalates, bisphenol A, S, primary aromatic amines, versus plastic, PVC, metal cans, capsules are part of the combinations of the monitoring plan.
